Hi

I have a birth certificate from 1898 arrived today and I would like to know if any one can help me with it.

The fathers occupation is shown as carman. ( is this someone who sells cars!)

Also it give a name of who he worked for I think? Looks like
Hides and skins.

He was living in old kent road and I wonder if I might be able to find out more about where he worked.

Thanks sue

Thanks christina

lol carman someone who drives a horse and carriage maybe for a railway.
Or a person who collects parcels.
Today would be a van driver. ( forgot the time no cars around silly me)

I wonder if he delivered animal skins then?
