I would like to obtain the service record of my father in law. I have rank and reference on marriage cert. and also on one of the childrens birth cert. He went into the service twice between the 1920's and forty's. Where would I apply for them? Would appreciate any help.

Here is the link to the Veteran's Agency, which explains who & how you can obtain these records. They are not available from anywhere else, unless part of his service was before 1924. The records are retained by the RAF.
