thanks mgnv
I think the C Urquhart on the witness bit is an uncle of my granddad.
Went through some census i have and found a Charles that i had over looked
So i think the mystery is solved
thanks to all

The legal minimum was zero witnesses, but two were customary.

Thought so,just looked back at some others and they had two,i just assumed my gran had signed it,as it was the same name.
So know i'm off to look for this C Urquhart as he was in the same regiment at the same time as my granddad
thanks

Hi does any one know if there were one or two witness's on a scottish marriage cert in 1926.
My cert is ok but the witness bit is difficult to see,one of the witness's appears to have the same initialand surname as my gran when married
C Urquhart but the address is the gordon highlander camp aberdeen. If there are two witness's then i've probably solved a recent problem
