Hi Brit

Why not print your family tree off. I have done this and have it on my wall so I can see at a glance who belongs to who. If your tree is too big, split it up into sections.

Thanks so much to all who answered. I have printed off your replies for future reference. (I am still a paper person at heart!!) I didn't even realise that it could be done that way. I do have FTM2006 but was daunted by reentering all the names dates etc. one by one, so it has just been sitting on my computer since (yes) 2006.
I am going to upload as suggested (I had never even noticed the Upload feature on the bottom of the page..I don't think I ever scrolled down that far!! )

Thank you all once again, you have been an enormous help. Cheers Brit

this one is free. Download it to you hardrive adn then upload your tree from GR. They will send you an email with the tree on. Open your new free software and import it...easy

Copy and paste into your browser

yo can also print off whole familys in many formats. One comes printed with the head at the top of the a4 paper and then everyone else underneath in order.

Even if you use Tribal pages, then it is still a must to use something like FTM to maintain your master records. It is also far easier to maintain and modify than a website tree.

I do have a tree on Tribal Pages but as it only supporst 2000 names unless you pay, then it is of little use to me. I also have a tree on Ancestry, which I actually find better than TP for making contacts with other researchers.

Hi everyone, I know this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find anything that explains it step by step. Looking for some help please.
I want to be able to look at my tree in a larger format, not just one couple with their children at a time. I have spent hours today trying to sort out family branches, but they are brothers and cousins who name their children by the same names and have them close in age and it is hard to figure out who belongs to who. I feel I could keep them all straight if I could see them all at once. (Does this make any sense?) I tried printing my tree out, oh boy that was a mistake!!
Any advice from the oldbees but goodies on here?? Thanks very much.
