Thank you ladies for your help, a little late for to start joining Findmypast but have a prelim look at the site.

I am looking for

William Henry Harvey B 1853 in Commercial Road (but don't know if this is Stepney or Bethnal Green and am trying to locate his birth cert)

His wife is Sarah A Harvey B 1855 in Whitechapel (again trying to locate birth cert)

I know in 1881 census they had two sons, Samuel Harvey (my GG Grandfather) B 1877 in Bethnal Green and William H Harvey B1879 also in Bethnal Green. I cannot find the family in the 1891 census and by 1901 Samuel is married to Agnes thring (marriage cert arrived this morning)

Any help gratefully received.

Many thanks

Anita

(Sorry Alice, didn't read your answer fully. Didn't see you already suggested that.)

Can anyone advise me on how to discover if my Great Great greanparents emigrated to either America or Canada?

the family story is that they went to either America or Canada and started a school but my great grandfather didn't like it and returned to England.

I can find the family in the 1881 England census and then not again until my great grandfather was married.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Anita
