This is a must as you travel backwards.

Also check the bmd for different counties.

I will nudge Heather's Tips for Newbies up the board for you.

Hi

I am quite new to this, started my tree with me and my parents years ago but over the last week I have become addicted!
I have added about 100 people so far (which I am quite proud of!) with a little help from my mam and some of my own memory.

Can anyone tell me how to confirm a year of birth for someone, a lot at the moment are just rough guesses?

Can you also advise the best websites for research, I currently use what is on here (keep hammering my credits but dont tell my man!) and have also found freebdm.rootsweb.com which has been a little help.

All advice and tips will be well recieved
Thanks for reading
