Hi Graham,

do you have some idea of when your grandfather was born, was married and when he died?

If you would like to give a name and some idea of the relevant years I will have a look for you. If you would prefer to look yourself this is a good site for births etc before about 1930.

www.freebmd.org.uk

Once you have the relevant birth, marriage and death references you can order a copy of the certificates for £7.00 each from

www.gro.gov.uk

I hope this helps,
Caz

Hi Welcome to the Boards :O)

GRO Southport is your best bet for certs, they should cost you seven pounds each if you have the ref number.
Also thinngs like marriage certs should have their occupations on them.

Sorry this is there web site

I’m just starting out at looking in to my family history. I am starting with my grandfather.

How do I get the Birth, Marriage and Death certificates, how much would a copy be?

How do I find out what profession this person was? Do I have to pay for a copy of this as well?

Many thanks,
Graham.
