Thanks for that Hayley,

If that is the case why is there a 75 year rule on coroners reports.

Diane, you have to contact the coroner's office for the area. You may be out of luck, I tried to get the report for my great uncle & was told the records are only kept for 15 years, but it's worth checking as I think its up to individual coroners how long they are kept for

Good luck!

Inquest held?

Just a guess, the only death cert I have signed by a coroner rather than a family member, the inquest was held on the same day as the date of death.

I do have a date for Edwins death 1938
I think I found a new marrage for him as well.

I have no idea of any family church and as I can't pin Emma down she could have been in any parish,

I'd hunt down Edwin's death if possiable, might give you some more information that maybe of help.

As Ricochet said they might not have had any children, or the children may have died as very young children meaning they are not recordered on the census, this was the case with quiet a few of my great grandfathers siblings. If it wasn't for someone writing the family tree in the family bible though I wouldn't have known these children were my great great grandparents, well no without bankrupting myself ordering certs (I am ordering certs to double check the tree written in the bible).

Yes Rocohet thanks for that,
you may be right about not having any children but I have to explore every avenue.

SIGNATURE AND ADDRESS OF INFORMENT
It says certificate recived from S.Cohan corner of Middlesex Inquest held on the 31st aug and death reg on the 1st sept
there is no family members name on the certifate at all.

have you tried looking at baptist records instead. and if you know the family's local church start by checking there first.

Perhaps they didn't have children.......................

Who registered Emma's death?

Diane

Diane Report 25 Feb 2009 10:03

I am trying to find children born of this marriage.

My Great Aunt Emma Frances Elligett born 1868 Guildford Surrey,
Married a Edwin Thomas Willoughby in 1892 St Olave.
(Edwin Willoughby was born in 1860)

I can not find them in the 1901 or the 1911 census.

I have found a death for Emma Frances Willoughby in August 1911 aged 41
It says she died 29th august at 9 Brownlow Road Finchley.( I have the certificate )

I know of this address as this was Emma's younger sister's family home. There names were Ellen Brazier (was Elligett) and Thomas Brazier, I have then there with there children in 1911 but Emma is not there with them.

My own mother Eillen was listed as being born at this address some years later and my grandmother Ethel lived at this address with her mother and father,(Ellen and Thomas ) so its a address that is well know to me.

My problem is, as I can't find Emma and Thomas together, I can't match any children for them.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas how I could go about matching some, with out having to order every Willoughby birth certificate between 1892 and 1911.

Is there any where else I should be looking.

Edwin was Printer Journeyman so I have tried every combination of names and ages to look all over the country for Emma and Edwin but no luck at all.

Any help or advise will be gratefully appreciated.
