There is a structure now and if you have just the basic package you dont get Pallots and parish register stuff.

Its a pity we couldnt all use the offer on ancestry aus recently - just £38 for the year :(

The premium package has:

* English and Welsh Birth, Marriage & Death indexes 1837-2005
* UK Census records 1841-1901
* Irish historical records
* The largest online collection of British World War One military records
* Pre-1837 Parish & Probate record collections
* Pallot's Baptism and Marriage Indexes 1780-1837
* New historical content, as soon as it's released

Sorry I just noticed your question, once you get in click on the title Births death and marriages, that takes you to a list where Pallotts weddings and baptisms are

Its daft that you have you do a search before you can search , if you know what I mean ?

Thanks all! Might gives all sites a break - apart from Genes of course! - and see if I can use library facilities as and when I need them.

I've just gone over to google CHROME and believe it or not it has speeded ancestry up back to how it used to be, no more waiting for pages to load.
Ive been so fed up with the slowness of searching so this is brilliant.

It is very slow, that's true. Think I might let my sub lapse, at least for now,
Thanks for all your replies.

Have been looking around to see other threads on this topic, and found a reference to accessing census reports at the library. Is this possible? I live in Birmingham if that makes a difference.

I won't be renewing as i am only using it to do look ups for others & to be honest i can't afford it.

Lindsey......When Ancestry changed i lost the pallots

The only trouble with renewing on ancestry is that you will lose Pallotts and some other parts that you have been used to ,so you get less for your money, or face an increased upgrade to get what you already have now,

That is the question!
It has been a brilliant site for accessing records, but I don't have much need for that now, so I am wondering about findmypast instead (how much does that cost anyway?). Can I still access birth indexes not yet on freebmd?
Does anyone have any thoughts please? If I don't renew soon it will expire anyway.
Thanks!
