Thanks for that Chris

After a few days looking I think I might have to give up on doing this myself or hire a professional as Knin which is the nearest town to where my partners granddad was born was the seen of heavy fighting and there is still a lot of anti serbian feelings still around so I am a bit cautious of how to ask as I don't want to cause problems

Have a look at the Cyndislist page for Eastern Europe, it will give you an idea of what is available.

Does anyone know a site where I can search records from the former Yugoslavia. My partners granddad was from a town in Croatia called Golubic (he was a Serb) and I don't know how I can find records without having to travel to Croatia
