Flying Scotsman

Most will know this but just to stress that the locomotive named Flying Scotsman is not the same thing as the train of the same name. This often causes great confusion.

Just done a quick google for you. Have you tried this site

They've got loads of links to different repositories of LNER stuff.

Also checked the www.flyingscotsman.org.uk who are trying to restore the Scotsman. I'd love to know why they need £250k to restore it to working order when only 6 months before they bought it I was on the Orient Express being hauled by FS. (My Mums 60th birthday pressie)

My Grandfather, GGrandfather, GGGrandfather and GGGGrandfather all worked on the railways and somewhere there is a photo of my uncle as a child on the footplate of FS. Must try and track it down.

It's a bit obvious but Google is your friend, try typing Flying Scotsman into Google it will bring up many hundreds of pages about it.

Hi has anyone got any info on the Flying Scotsman please ? my G Grandfather Joseph T. Young was one of the engine drivers on the 1st non -stop run -Edinburgh - London.
