isabel luce - no idea who she is although i did find a birth of an isabel luce 1874 toxteth

I can't find any Campbell/Hogg marriages though. I was just looking for James Alexander births and that one struck me.

i posted a query last week about james alexander hogg. (titled " help with a seaman )
the only info i had was that he had been a seaman and was married to mary margaret holmes.
( david kindly offered to take a look for him on the central register of merchant seaman when he next goes to kew )
well i have today received his marriage cert and it was 1896 toxteth park liverpool lancashire
he was 32 she was 24
he was a batchelor she was a spinster
his occupation was mariner hers was blank
address for both was 171 harrowby st skipton in craven yorkshire.
both james and mary were born in liverpool lancashire and it seems they might have been staying at the home of marys sister matilda holmes who had married william henry tindall in skipton yorkshire 2 years previous.
well to cut this tale short. because i cant find a birth for james alexander hogg c1864 liverpool
( there is one for 1865 east ward westmorland but thats not him ) so i cant send for a birth cert i thought i might get a clue with the marriage cert because it would give his fathers name.
guess what !! his fathers name is also james alexander hogg occupation fireman.
so i am stumped as to how i can find out any more about either of the james alexander hoggs.
any ideas anyone
