I have a rellie, Jeremiah Firkins brn West Bromwich Staffs 1805. He died in Birmingham 1855, but I am unable to find him on the 1841/51 census. I presume his occupation as boatman is'nt helping me, but I have been able to find my other boating rellies- any ideas

If you could not find him but could find the rest of the family, it is possible he was someone else visiting at the time of the census, or that he was an inmate of some sort. Workhouse, Asylum, Prison etc.

Many thanks for the replies, will try the phone number. Have never been able to find him, his wife or children, probably hiding on some lock on census night
