I contacted the diocese and they have told me to contact the records office!

Is there anyone on here who lives near the church or gloucester that would be willing to look in the church?

regards jess

If he's buried at the church there may even be something on his tombstone - if he only died in 1912, chances are that any grave marker is still standing.

I have found all sorts of things on tombstones - sometimes they say "of Simonswood" (a place), "of Blue Butts" (a farm), "churchwarden at this church for 35 years" or other similar things. Often people with roles connected to the church seem to have it noted on the stone. You might be lucky with him.

I'm hoping someone can help me out here.

My partners 3x great grandfather, Daniel Rodway, was verger of St Mary De Lode Church in Gloucester for 20+ years. I was wondering whether there would be a plaque or something within the church in memory of him?

He was born 1925 and died 1912 in Gloucester.
