Have a look at this site, in case any of your family are mentioned.

If not, you could try subscribing (free) to the appropriate rootsweb mailing list, or rootschat site, to see if anyone has access to the parish registers.

Joy I have the NBI edition 2 my family come from Walsall, Wednesbury and other districts around there. Unfortunatley the NBI was a waste of money for those areas haven't found one so far.

Thank you Pete for your reply. I will keep that infor. on hand as I am searching that area as all my family came from there. I have had great success with the National Burial Index and found the relative buried in Wednesbury before 1837. Much appreciated.

Unitl recently there was a searchable datbase on the familyhistoryonline website. Sadly this pay to view site has closed and some (but not all ) of the records transferred to Find My past.

The Staffordshire burials database has not been transferred.

According to the familyhistory online website, "For more information about the Birmingham and Midland Society for Genealogy and Heraldry please see the web site www.bmsgh.org "

Perhaps they can search their database for you.

Tracey, thank you. I will have a look for nat.burial index. Sorry didn't say I was in Australia. Not sure if they have that sort of research in libraries out here but will investigate. I am a newy. The area I am looking at is Staffordshire, around Darleston/Walsall. Thanks so much. Joy

You might be lucky if the region you are researching is covered by the National Burial Intex. It is searchable on Findmypast or for free if your local library has a set iof the discs.

Some region's burial records, eg-Bristol and Kent, have been transcribed and put online by enthusiastic individuals.

Would appreciate it if anyone can tell me where you can find deaths around 1829 to 1833. Do you then have to go to the local archives?
