Yes I have tried the 1911 Census. I did think about the wife route whose name was Hughes. I thought it would be a bit of a coincidence them marrying a Willams. I have searched for an Eleanor Williams and there does not seem to be one that fits. He did not marry twice he died when he was 36. He married at 26.

Did his father marry twice? Sometimes you find "in law" being used where we would nowadays use "step", so she might have been his step-sister and taken the Williams surname when her mother married his father.

Could Eleanor be his wife's sister?

Could she have been his wife's sister married to a Mr Williams.

Have you tried to find them on 1911 census??

My grandfather's death . was registered by Eleanor Williams sister in law. He had two brothers neither of whom had a wife by that name. I have her address in 1915 but the number in the street does not exist. 105 and the street jumps from 99 to 111.

He is Charles Joseph Williams and died 5/11/1915.
