baby thomas,s birth
the only one during the time 99 to 1900 in the reg district of wigan,on freebmd, the others are too late or too early
you would get his mothers name so you could, hopefully ,marry her and thomas off for his marriage cert.

Births Sep 1900 (>99%)
Davies Thomas Wigan 8c 79

and the only two deaths in the time scale that are the right sort of age to have been his wife

Deaths Jun 1900 (>99%)
Davies Charlotte 28 Wigan 8c 14

Deaths Mar 1900 (>99%)
Davies Eugene Florence 24 Wigan 8c 86

my favourite is charlotte though.

Hi Vivienne,
yes that's the correct 1901 cesus. As you see he is a widower. I'm actually trying to find his marriage and the mother of the children. It gives their place of birth as Hindley, which gives me quite a few possibilities for certs., but I was attempting to narrow it down a bit. ----------will get there in the end.

Hi Vivienne,
there are actually 5 thomas Davies's on lancs BMD for 1899/1900,
but only the one for Hindley, so I may go for that one. Problem is that I know that Elizabeth was a catholic, in which case if they were catholics at birth this won't be him as the catholics are not on BMD yet.
I wouldn't have thought Thomas "from the valley" would have been catholic, but he may have married one.
