Hi Sandra,

This is from Scotland’s People Web-Site.

The Registrar General for Scotland plans to release the Scottish 1911 Census information just after the date of the 2011 Census (27 March 2011), by which time the 100 year closure period will have ended.

Cheers
Malcolm

Sandra,

If your uncle and aunt had a fairly unusual surname, you 'might' be able to track down a possible marriage for them on Scotlandspeople. Using a probable marriage date (given you know their birth date) and possible location within Scotland. Not reliable ... but you might strike lucky.

For ref:

Relatively easy to check for female deaths using cross-ref for maiden and married names.

Scotlandspeople:
£6 for 30 credits
1 credit to view index
5 credits to view certificate

Death certificates only viewable online up to 1958
Births up to 1908

If you live near Glasgow, you might be able to find their father on the 1911 valuation rolls at the Mitchell Library. However, there won't be any info on your aunt and uncle other than their address and the father's occupation.

Forgot to mention:

Marriages available for viewing online up to 1933.

Jacki,

Crossed wires situation here.

Sandra got mixed up and thought Malcolm had replied with the information.

It was actually me.

Likewise, I thought I was replying to Sandra .... didn't notice it was you who posted.

The information I suggested still stands with regards to your query.

Sorry for causing confusion.
