Hi
Can anyone help please I have a great uncle who was born in 1915 In Birkenhead, Liverpool and was in the Army, John H Sampson. I know he was serving in Cyprus late 1940's early 50's and he died out there but it has been a great family mystery as to how, suspicoous cicurmstances, unknown causes etc have all been mentioned, is there any way to find this out? I am afraid I dont know his regiment or anything like that

Many thanks

Vicki

You could try writing to The British Consul in Cyprus. Applying to the Army will be difficult without more detail.

There are 3 results for military deaths for the name Sampson between 1950 and 1960 on Findmypast website, but it is pay per view.

you could also try the pensions people at blackpool - from memory they need his name, dob and what regiment ... am assuming if married that his wife may have inherited his pension....
