I'm looking for a marriage for Edith Jarvis and Edward Bartlett. Their first child was born about 1890. I can't seem to find one for Edward but I have found this for an Edith and I can see there are not enough names although one has a different area. Could it possibly be the one I'm looking for, how can I tell?

Marriages Jun 1889 (>99%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BULLEID Emily Plymouth 5b 512
Jarvis Edith Plymouth 5b 512
Lidstone Eliza Mary Stoke D. 5b 512
Robinson John James C Plymouth 5b 512
WORLEDGE Augustus Charles M Plymouth 5b 512

Is there a way to find the missing name? Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Thelma

Marriages are four names to a page.

Hello Maisy.

Just read your thread. I have saw a number of entries, similar to the one that you have added.

I am reading that the names that follow are all marriages for June 1889. What do you mean by' i can see there are not enough names'?

The more info that you can post here, the more people will be able to offer you advise.

I don't think there is a missing name - just that the marriage for Eliza Mary Lidstone in Stoke D. has been added by mistake.

I've checked the complete index and there is no marriage in the June qtr. of 1889 for an Edward Bartlett.

Perhaps your couple didn't actually marry.

Thanks to you all for replying. I was hoping it might be the right one. Can't believe they didn't marry, I won't give up just yet though.

His name was Edward Hervey Bartlett. I thought it wouldn't be difficult to find and Edith came from Plymouth.

Thanks again for taking the time to look for me.

Maybe Edward Hervey was the name he wrote under.

Just wanted to thank the people who added to this.

Sylvia, the 1891 census was the correct family. I'm still not giving up yet. Maybe he was married before, there's not too many people left in the family who know anything about him but I'm going to carry on looking.

Pam, Perhaps he did use the name Edward Hervey to write under although on his daughters birth certificate his name is as above so would have thought it was correct name used in everyday life.

Hopefully I'll find what I'm looking for one day!

Thanks again
