hi there,
Just got my grans brothers death certificate. It was quite informing and now the family tale that we have is now proved right. It says that he died from La Grippe or Spanish flu and has him listed as being a prisoner of war. So was very interesting and glad that i sent of for it, and it only took about 5 days for it to come. Well worth it in some cases. The spanish flu killed more people than the 1st world war.
thanks

Forgot to say, you won't get a death certificate, only a record of his entry on the cwgc website, which might tell you when and where he died, who his parents were, where he was from, and where he is buried or commemorated.

Try cwgc site, but I didn't see anything.

I didn't know which service he served in, that might make a difference.

Yes, I have found him on ancestry, but there is not a lot of info on there about him, was hoping for a bit more. His name is Charles John Hydon :) thanks for the reply.

WWI records are on Ancestry, what is his name? Have you found him on the CWGC website?

My great grandfather was killed in action during WW1. Can anybody please tell me if some form of death certificate could be obtained and how I should go about it?

Also, has anyone any ideas about getting hold of his army records.

Thanks very much in advance,

Chrissie.
