Groan, ugly arrows on tree

I'm finding it a pain too, hate the new layout & find everything very slow.

I have gold membership at the moment as I wanted to get alot done with unlimited census access but I'll probably go elsewhere when the 6 months is up. I have still had to buy credits on findmyfamily to get censuses for relatives GR's search won't find. I definitely don't have an arrow to collapse the details & see more of the tree either.

They won't take any notice of complaints; most of the time when you complain about something the reply you get makes it obvious that they haven't even read your message properly, let alone intend doing anything about it!

GR seem to have perfected the art of user unfriendliness!

Nope, I can't see a tiny white anything either. According to another thread not everyone has the arrows....why us? Perhaps we're guinea pigs?

If you look at the top of written details section, where it says "add sibling" etc. - just above "change parents" there should be a tiny white triangle - I always assumed they meant it to be an arrow! If you haven't got it, yours must be different to mine.

Thanks Christine - but I don't have a tiny white arrow anywhere!

There is another thread on this entitled "Tree Layout"

Blossom in Essex - if you click on the tiny white arrow in the centre top of the written details, they will disappear, leaving the full screen for the tree. Clicking on a person will bring them back.

Remember the arrows at the beginning of "Dad's Army"? "Who do you think you are kidding Mr Hitler?" Looks like the new GR tree :o(

I think the main problem is that when I started doing my tree about two and a half years ago the 'tree' part took up around 3/4 of the page with the written details taking up the bottom 1/4.

Now that they have given so much space to the writtent details the tree part has become so cramped that you can hardly see anything. Every time you want to see another generation you have to click on the arrows and wait until it reconfigures itself. I really can't be bothered with it..........

I think these arrows are the worst modification that has been made to the tree format

Wish they'd leave things as they are.
