Hi,
On my gg grandmother's death certificate it states under occupation 'wife of William Fleckney'. Does this mean he was definetely alive when she died? How would it be recorded if he was deceased?
It is actually his death I am trying to find and I'm trying to narrow down possible dates for his death.
Thankyou.

Who was the informant?

There is this death - but it's before the death certificate that you have from 1921:-

Name: William Fleckney

Year of Registration: 1920
Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar
Age at Death: 35
District: Woolwich

Hi,
Thanks for that. The informant was her son. The last record I have of her husband William is on the 1911 census he was in a workhouse. I can't find any record of his death. I just wondered what happened to him.

Whereabouts did your gg grandmother live before her death?

There is this death (with birth year about right) which I thought might be a mistranscription:-

Name: William Flecknoe
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1854
Year of Registration: 1922
Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun
Age at Death: 68
District: Bath
County: Avon, Somerset
Volume: 5c

My gg grandmother died in Croydon. According to the 1891 and 1901 census they were living in Bermondsey, London. In the 1911 census she was living in Croydon and he was in a workhouse in Southwark. He is origionally from Hertfordshire.
Fleckney has been mistranscribed lots of times so it could be Flecknoe. I'm not sure why he would be in Bath though. None of the family are from there. I'll have a look on the census's and see if there's another William Flecknoe from the somerset area.
Thanks for having a look for me.
