I am not sure if this snipet of information I uncovered, whilst at the local archive office is of any interest or help to anyone, so I thought I would just add it here, until it drops to the depths of GR.

In an old genealogy magazine in relation to an article about the Salvation Army, It stated that the SS Vancouver was associated to the Salvation Army and that in the early 20th century it shipped many young men to Canada, to start a new life out there.

I know it isn't much but it may just unlock a door to someone.
