I've come across what looks like the abbreviation "N.K." in the occupation column of the head of the household. Would this be the obvious "Not Known" , and if so, does anyone know why, or could it be something else?

Hi Carol

Could be someone else in the household gave the information and didn't know what the head did for a living. Have the same for one of my relatives.

Thanks for that - there were a couple of lodgers living in the same house so probably they gave the information, and, as you say, likely didn't know.
