Marriage & Death in India

Can anyone tell me if there is any way in which I can find the marriage and death of my Uncle Henry Charles Griffin (known as Harry) born in 1904 in West Ham and believe to have married and died in India. In the 1920's he was in the Kings Royal Rifles and a Staff Sergeant and served in India for a number of years. He turned up in the 1950's (we assumed from India) and then disappeared again. I am unable to find a marriage or death for him in this country but believe he did marry in India. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you had any luck tracing his service record? It should show his next of kin & at least an idea of when he died, surely?

Hi Jo

I don't know if the following sites are any good for you, they have helped me with my searches.

Thank you both very much. I am at present sending off details that I know of for his service records but unfortunately do not know his army number. I will most certainly follow up on the websites you have advised. Thank you so much.
