Hi guys does anybody know how i can just search an address on the 1901 census as i'm struggling with it the address for instance is 13/14 Ovenden Wood Road, Halifax is this possible ???????

Not easy on Ancestry.....but it can be done.

You need to find any image for Halifax.........then search through the enumeration district descriptions...........but you'll have to choose the sub-registration district first. Halifax alone has well over 60 districts.........

1901censusonline has a full address search facility......but you have to pay to view the results.

Frankly, for the sake of a few pounds, it isn't worth the slog of trying to find it on Ancestry...............

What document leads you to be looking at this address?

On Ancestry, the only UK census searchable by address is 1881.
For others, you can examine the enumeration area description to find the area you want, then plaough through the images until you find the address. Halifax in 1901 has 68 areas - so it's a long job.

If you suspect who may be there - search by name is far easier.

Use 1901 online to find the address and it will give clues as to which part of the area.
