please can anyone help, my gr gr grandmother was a british subject born in portugal in 1840. Her name was Louisa Jardine.

I have no idea how to go about finding out who her parents were or anything about her.
Does anyone have any ideas.

The way to progress is to buy her marriage cert. It will tell you her father's name and occupation...................

This seems to be the birth of Louisa's half-sister........the cert would tell you her mother's maiden name..........
