	1881 census shows the following:- Richard T Chalklen, head, Gillingham Kent Elizabeth Chalklen, wife, Gillingham, Kent Alice Chalklen, Daur, Gillingham, Kent Adeline Chalklen, Daur, Australia Louisa Chalklen, Daur, Australia Emma Chalklen, Daur, Australia. Genevieve very kindly found this info for me on the Australian records:- Parents of the following children are:- Richard Thomas Chalklen amd Elizabeth Ann Cory (Whiffin) Charles Richard Chalklen, 8.7.1854, Adelaide Charles Richard Chalk,en died 28.1.1855 aged 6 months Adeline Chalklen, 3.4.1856 Adelaide Louisa Chalklen, 5.12.1857, Adelaide Lucy Ann Chalklen, 25.1.1860, Norwood, Aust. Anna Chalklen, 18.12.1864, Norwood, Aust. Charles Richard Chalklen, 8.7.18 Unless it is one very large coincidence, surely this is my Chalklen`s?? But as you can see, birth dates are way out. Large glass of water and 3 paracetamol comeing up.

	Well Louisas and Adelines DOB fit perfect with the census record in 1881, Alice and emma arn`t in the christening/birth records for Australia.....Alice born England Have you managed to find Lucy Ann, Anna, and Charles Richard elsewhere in 1881? EDIT...... could Emma be Anna? age matches..... Nicky Edit.... have searched through freeBMD for any records for Lucy Ann ,Anna/Emma and Charles Richard....drew a blank on all, maybe they stayed in Australia, or all died before the family returned to england......

	Looks like Alice died having never married.......age fits with 1881 entry Deaths Mar 1898 (>99%) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chalklen Alice Elizabeth 45 W. Ham 4a 115 Nicky EDIT... and heres her birth record to match it up.... Births Mar 1851 (>99%) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chalklen Alice Elizabeth Medway 5 434 ......... age is approx a year out, but as we know, information is only as accurate as the informant.

	Jims 1871 census posting shows still no Anna but there is an Emma, correct age again as in 1881......... think Anna must have somehow become Emma.... Nicky
