Hi all, I am trying to find the parents of Harriet Millward, born Macclesfield about 1898 (age 12 on 1911 census), living with parents Samuel Millward (b 1861) and Sarah Ellen (b 1863).

I have subscriptions to Genes (obviously), Ancestry and Find My Past, and can find no birth for her, nor her elder brother Frank b 1895.

Found the family in 1901 too, dates confirmed. Mother is not there in 1911, but the family tell me she died when Harriet was young, but I cannot find a death either. Nearest death that ties in the the dates is in Pately Bridge, Yorkshire in 1907 - but why Yorkshire when she was born in Macclesfield, Cheshire?

Nor can I find a marriage of Samuel Millward to anyone remotely suitable.

Any ideas please?

so it looks as though Samuel didn't marry Sarah

My brother, photo taken in September 1991 just a couple of weeks before he died. ............................................................ To help us and to get better results, please post as much detail as you can, especially name, date(s) and place. Also say what you already know.

Yes Minnie that's them - but even more exciting Jim seems to have found the births, and the death of Sarah Ellen. Thanks so much - but how did you find out that they were Dakin?
