My great grandmother Annie Hall b 1864 in Kircudbright Scotland married John Nelson b1862 in Silloth cumberland. I awould like to know when and where they married. Their 1st child Violet was born in 1887 so it may hav been around that time. Can anyone help? Thanks

Have you checked yourself on FreeBMD? If they married in Scotland you will have to search on Scotland's People where you have to buy credits in advamce

Was Violet born Scotland? If so her birth entry will, theoretically, also state when and where her parents married.

according to 1891 census both children born Silloth

can't find Violet but this probably her brother

I have checked the images on Ancestry and the page number for the marriage is 661 both for John Nelson and Annie Hall

Yes that is the family. My grandmother was winifred.

If Violet was born before the date of parents marrigage she may be registered under mothers maiden name.

Jacqueline is right. She has her father's surname as a second name
