Hi Teresa
I have just registered with Ancestral Atlas and like you say i will have to find my way round it ,so any tips would be grateful.

Not sighning up yet for the subsciption until i find more out about it.

Its hard to find information on Southern Ireland so hopefully this site will be a godsend.

Thank you for letting us know about it .

Click on 'Map your Data' to start adding you names, BDM's etc.

Then you can find the appropriate Map locations and it will mark it on the Map for you. Best to do one Country and county location at a time I've found.

They are hoping for GEDcom soon, so that will make it a bit easier I think.

Like anything new it takes a bit of time to find your way around. As for Searching for names to find a connection..I haven't sussed that out yet but as I was told about it by one of the directors last night, I might just be the first to start using it!

I will contact them tomorrow night and see if anybody else has submitted data and ask about searches.

.

the income bits interesting, makes a change to potentially get something back.

Edit: Teresa, I know this is cheeky but could you possiably post or pm me some information you have put on so I can see how the search works (even if its 'test' informaiton you've put on there), also if your signed up for the 'earn an income' bit you might as well get the cut from me signing up.

This website has just been created and is free to register with.

"As a young website we are aware that the value of Ancestral Atlas will increase over time as more and more users add their data to the site and we introduce new subscriber benefits.

To reward those subscribing now we are offering a lifetime subscription for only £15.00 (the normal annual subscription fee). Simply click on the "Subscribe" link below"

http://www.ancestralatlas.com/ancestral-atlas-genealogy-mapping-network.php

I know they have been working with "Who do you think You are" TV programme and likely to be linked up with another 'big data supplier' in the near future, so might prove very useful.

I have signed up for the £15 lifetime subscription and started to add my genealogy data and linked people up with address where they were living in Ireland on their maps.

Worth taking a look and registering.
