help with 1871/61 census please

hi ihave this family on the 1881 census and i have john prescott on the 1841 census with his parents and siblings but i cant find john and wife ellen on either the 1851/61/71 census
i am just off to bed but if any of yu night owls come across them it would be very much appreciated

I cannot find any of them on the earlier censuses!

I have tried forenames + Prescot*, birth years +/- 5, born anywhere in the UK

I think the clue is in his job>> Water boatman, perhaps they were all at sea?
