i do have a barometer of his,the trouble is trying to trace him back to italy with no luck so far.

In fact if you google his name there are lots of results. His work seemed to have been/still is prized. This may then be a way to find out about him through his work.

Surnames: Luvate, Luvati, Railton
im trying to make a start of finding my ancestors who came from italy.Dominic Luvate probably changed from (domenico Luvati)not sure)when he came to england.
He was born 1799 - 1800 Como.He came to England befor 1823 as he married a Jane Railton in 1823.He was a barometer maker.If anyone can tell me anything at all i would be very greatful.How did they get to England.........Thanks to anyone..

Surnames: Luvate, Preston
Dominic Luvate is a distant relative through the family name of Preston. I have a family tree if you would like one. Dominic's son also Dominic married Elizabeth Jane Preston.
The 1861 census shows Dominic senior was born "in Milan"
Would be grateful for any info about the family

Iv traced my tree back as far a Dominic Luvate born 1800 in Como,(thats what it says on his gravestone)but cant go any further back.Is there anyone with some advice out there please.
