Hello, I just wanted to share my experience with others. I phoned Andover Registry Office on Monday and requested a death certificate, for a death in 1960. I made payment over the phone and it arrived in the post today (Friday). Very quick and very helpful!

Have to say some other offices are just as good. My own experience includes Cheshire East and Flintshire - very efficient and ring you up if they have a query.

Hello Maggie,

I agree, I once ordered a certificate from GRO and it took ages to get processed and delivered. I now contact the register office where the BMD was registered and the service is great, and the certificate usually arrives really quickly. They even contact me by e-mail to confirm that the cert has been posted. I so look forward to receiving these and am thrilled when they arrive.

I am waiting with anticipation for another death cert on its way from Bishop Auckland Registry Office, who also dealt with my request and payment over the phone.
