Looking on the Marriage Index for the marriage of two of my family, I found an exact match except for the Page No. Question, can the page No.'s be different?
Thanks

Did the page no have a bracket ( ) around one of the numbers or were the 2 numbers completely different.
Eg one says vol 10 page 228. The other says Vol 10 page 2( 3) 8.

If it has brackets its because the transcriber wasnt sure what the number was.
Can you find the marriage at a local reg office?

Hi, all the details were the same except page number, one was page 185 and the other page 105, no brackets on either.

Is there an odd number of people on both pages? It could be that either the 8 or the 0 have been mistranscribed.

If this is on freebmd, you can click on the glasses on the entry to see an actual image of the GRO page.
You can enlarge the page and may then find that you can see that the index numbers are the same.

Hi, a big thank you to you all for replying, I checked the original documents as Gwyn suggested and they are the same number, 105, not 185 as the freebmd site had put on one them. Thanks again!!

Go back to the spouse with the faulty page # on your FreeBMD hit, click on the "info" box next to the spectacles, and submit a correction to save other folks from your hassle.
