Thanks for answering, yes, I have found marriage records for a gg grandfather ,but on the earlier records the wife's maiden name is ommited,

Hi,

The short answer is - it depends on many things. How far back are you talking?

If you post some details of a person you are chasing ie birth year, married name, husband's name, where born/living, and other details you know, we will try and help.
