Thank you very much for all your help, it is much appreciated. I am at the moment going through all your messages. The suggestions have been brilliant as I never thought of going to Google and have just loaded the IG The suggestions were brilliant, I have just loaded the IGI site and yet to look at it.
Kind regards Ana

I have pm/d Ana advising her of these replies and how to access them. I hope she comes back to find this info.

There is a Newington, Surrey, sometimes wrongly described as being in Kent myself and my ancesters were born and raised in the area so I know it well. It is in S.E.London, starting at The Elephand & Castle, and continues down Old Kent Road, into other areas of Surrey before when on reaching Deptford, becomes the County of Kent. If you are still having trouble, it might be worth while trying it.

Hi Ana, if you look at the IGI you will see that there are Rigdens in both Newington AND Nonington. Why not post some details of your family on here and see if anyone can help you?? HOpe this helps.

Can you tell us a few names so that we may find them in census or BMDs.?

There is a Newington near Folkestone, sometimes called Newington-next-Hythe.

I am getting rather confused, in tracing my tree of the Rigden family in Kent, I find that some were born in Newington or Nonington Kent or so it looks on the Census forms. Appreciate if someone can help as to which name it is. Thank you
