i wrote to three people last week as we both had the same surname dates etc but nobody bothered to reply

was it because i took the tick out so they wouldnt see my tree

Yes where are my Hotmatches???
The last lot were just a handful and I swear that they had taken about three years to appear,W surnames only.

Hi Joyce,

don't be downhearted you may still get a reply. I have sometimes received replies up to a month after I made the initial contact. We are all so busy these days that we don't always have the time we would like to donate to this hobby and so some people only visit this site occasionally.

You can tell if the recipients have read your message by clicking on the message tab at the top of this page and clicking on sent messages. You will then see a list of the names of people you have contacted with a purple envelope beside each one. If the envelope is closed your message has not yet been read.

Give it time. I'm sure if they are still members they will reply. After all making the connections is why we are all here.

thank you all for the advice as the suns coming out i may go in the garden instead and leave this for a rainy day
