Ease of using Genes Reunited Tree

I don't know if it is just me, but often I cannot get into my tree
every thing seems to get stuck and nothing seems to move.
Every thing else about the site is ok just the tree bit I am beginning to find it generally cumbersome. This seems to happen on a regular basis or perhaps I am doing something wrong.

How many people have you got in your tree?

If you try and view the whole tree, and have more than a couple of thousand names, for me it often freezes up (using Firefox or Internet Explorer).

Have you tried asking someone else if they can view it? Might narrow it down to something to do with your PC.

I've got the same problem with approx 500 names and it does seem to happen more often when i'm accessing other larger trees

I have about 250 people on the tree, not really a large amount, I don't think it is my computer I would have problems generally when looking at other sites. Good idea about asking someone else to view the tree.

Hi,

I have just over four hundred names in my tree and my problem is when trying to move upwards from children to parents for example or sideways between siblings. My tree just wont allow me this sort of movement.

I also often have a problem when trying to enter information with connecting to the site. I keep getting an error message.

I reported these problems to GR in February but there has been no improvement yet. I have all but given up using my tree on here now as it is so difficult to use which is such a shame.

I just want to thank every one for their help & advice. I am pleased I have subscribed to Genes Reunited, most people reply to hot matches and
the community part is great. However I think I will seriously have to think of investing in a new Family Tree Package as well as having a tree with genes reunited.

regards

Anita
