Sue in Somerset has collected a list of useful web addresses on thiis Tips Board - I have nudged it and it is the one above your thread at the time of typing! It includes a lot of regional collections of parish recordds, etc.

Before 1837 you have to use parish records. You can find some of these on the International Genealogical Index (IGI) which you will find on www.familysearch.org

Hi can anyone help me I have traced my family back to around 1800 but when I try and get any more information it states that I can only get info from 1837 upwards how has anyone managed to get further back or do I have to use another site it would be great to hear from anyone Dee
