AS we've all found out, there is no better way than to add details one at a time properly, checking all the facts before entering them.
Copying from other people can be disastrous as you don't know where that comes from, by all means use it as a guide. and ask permission before you take any relatives.

If they agree they can send a gedcom to add to your tree.
