Hi Everyone.

I am starting out doing our family tree. Not doing too badly at the moment. My query which I wonder if anyone can steer me in the right direction is, what did my Grandfather do in the First World War. He was born in 1892 which would have made him 24 at the start of the Great War, so old enough for national service. However, there was never any mention of him serving, either from him or the rest of the family.
His name is John Clark and he was born in Glandford Brigg, Lincolnshire, England. I know at some stage he had an interest in a threshing machine business, travelling around farms assisting the farmers with their crops. Could this have been a reserved occupation during this war?
I will be interested in any ideas.
Thanks in advance.
