Or you could even knit an entire village:

Amazing, eh?

Go for it Tina! It sounds a brilliant idea, especially as you have several generations' connections to that house.

Thank you so much for posting this link. What a lovely story.

Many years ago, my mother and I discussed building a dolls house (aka 1/12 scale model) of her grandparents' house, where she grew up. Various generations of the family lived in the same house for about 100 years and as a small child I spent every summer there. However, my children were small and time-consuming and mu mother and I never had time to take it further than the discussion stage, and my mother died 11 years ago. This article has made me think I would like to take up the project. I must go off and talk to my older brother who will remember better than I what furniture stood where (between us we still have quite a few pieces of the furniture which stood in the house). In fact (said she with a cunning glint in her eye), he is about to embark on the model railway layout he has been promising himself for the past 50 years. I wonder if he would like to indulge in a bit of non-railway modelling..................!

There is a lovely article in today's Mail online which shows a novel approach to expanding your family tree work:

"Bringing the past to life: Retired couple spend £100,000 recreating family tree through scale models"
