How would I go about finding out if one of my ancestors were from a workhouse? All I have is a name of Sarah Cain, c 1886 mother of John Cain, but I dont have a maiden name, or know where she came from. I dont know where the family are from but I believe it to be manchester. She also had two duaghters, Agnes and Winefred Buckley. I dont know whether Cain was a maiden name or previous married name, Winefred I have a b. c, 1906 and d, c 1989 and Agnes a birth c 1910. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Kirstyanne

Year of Registration: 1912
Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar
Mother's Maiden Name: Cain
District: Manchester (1837-1924)
County: Lancashire
