Thank you everyone for your comments. I will have to wait and see if I can get a discount and maybe go for the Premium package as it has the Pre-1837 Parish, Probate & Irish records which is what I have access to now but £107.40 is still a lot of money as I only paid about £64 last year.

I renewed last week and opted for the Premium

but then I am in another country, and have greater difficulty finding other means of accessing the ancestry site for free.

I haven't actually checked my library to see whether they do provide access ...... but I do know that time on computers is limited to 30 minutes much of the time, and an hour the rest of the time.

Plus the libraries are open only for restricted times.

I want access for as long as I need it, whenever I need it ............. which is usually in the evenings and late at night.

I've opted for the essentials package and will be using my local library's ancestry access to view the pre-1837 Parish and Probate records and LMA material.

This appears to be the difference.
Access invaluable pre-1837 Parish and Probate records
Explore our Irish record collections
Not a lot for the extra money.

Hi, my subscription to Ancestry comes to an end next month. At the moment I am on the UK Membership subscription which I believe I have access to most records except worldwide details like Australia. I have just had a look at Ancestry to get an idea of the prices and I see that they no longer do the UK Membership. I have had a look at the Essentials package but it looks like I get less than I had with the UK Membership. Is it worth upgrading to the Premium package or just going with the Essentials membership. Has anyone got the Premium package – is it worth the extra money? Any comments would be helpful.
