Thanks David, That sounds more like the right time. In 1841 they are living at Knutton Heath, which is in the parish of Wolstanton at that time, now it would be Newcastle Staffs, not sure of the list of names though lol

Hi Gill

How about this one for September quarter 1838. Alfred Thomas Chell Pointon Taylor - Wolstanton & c 17 255. Can't find the place on my road atlas, but the GRO number is the same as for Stafford.

Thank you David but Alfred is 2 on 1841 census so unless they were very late registering him I don't think it can be him but I will find out, they are very good they will ring me if it's right or wrong at Staffs Reg.

Hello Gill
There is a birth registration for Alfred Henry Taylor in the September quarter of 1841 at Eccleshall Burlow. The image is faded at the edges butthe reference looks like 22 128.

Thanks Jonesey,
Yes I have that, Just trying to fit Children from 1841 census To them, I also have Elizabeth Taylor (my Ancestor) bap 16 June 1833 in Eccleshall parents Robert & Sarah but there are three children Thomas c 1826, William c1828 & Jane c1830 that don't appear in Eccleshall and then Alfred abt 1839, I thought if I could get his it may confirm them all. Yes thats it Croxton!!!!!!

Thanks Jonesey .
Yes I know, I have been told that Free BMD on Ancestry is a few months behind the Free BMD site.
I am Looking for Alfred Taylor c 1839 on one census he gives his BP as Croxon / Croxdon which I believe is in the parish os Eccleshall Staffs.
I know a lot of these early births may not have been registered, Iam keeping my fingers crossed, He is the youngest of a family and I need to confirm mothers single name. Parents Robert & Sarah Taylor(nee Mothershaw/Mottershaw.

Am I going mad or has the GRO birth index gone from Ancestry, I can see 1916 onwards but not before has anyone else noticed or am I missing something.
