in the 1841 census my ggg grandfather was a gardener would that mean he worked at one of the big houses as i dont think their were many gardens in woodford back then |

Rather depends which Woodford you are referring to. It could be Market Gardening which is in census as Gardener but if its Woodford, Essex more likely to be for "the big house" |
