Sorry about the deletions, the system wouldn't post my text only the empty box. Thankfully after the first attempt I copied the text.

If he stayed in Shropshire he didn't die between 84 and 2005 either as theres only two males both with birth regs.

So the conclusion is if he kept one of his first names he died before 1984, is still alive or he was given a new identity and is either dead or alive or he was Henry Walter Reynolds. Try seeing if henry is in any trees on here.

other than that it may be worth your while contacting the local archives for Ludlow. I'm wondering if he was given his mothers maiden name as a middle name. it could be worth checking their war memorial.

You could look at the electoral rolls for that street to find the surnames.

I think the Henry George Attallah was born overseas as there are no Attallahs on free bmd

If you know the street he lived on I wonder if the electoral registers might help. You'd have to view them in person but if they stayed there beyond his reaching the age of majority he might just be the only young man achieving voting age.

Damn, just realised he would have reached 21 during the War when there were no roles compiled and he was probably fighting.

There were 17 Henrys born on that day who died between 1984 and 2005. Of those the only ones I haven't found a death for are

Henry George Attallah
Sidney Henry Clair (St Clair)
Henry Walter Reynolds

There are no Ivors with that birthdate who died in that time span.

Was Lloyd your grans maiden name?

PS If you tell me the baby was Dollly Wood born Putney I swear I'll kiss you!

I'm doing the exact opposite to you at the moment, how weird!

OK tthis is a bit morbid but if the baby died between 1984 and 2005 the death should appear on ancestry. You can search from ancestry by date of birth. Now I just entered my dads date of birth and there are 344 other people. Lets hope they didn't change the babys first name. So if you want to give me the name, area and date of birth I'll see how many possibles I can find.

Maybe admission register for a local school near the known street will provide some clues.
They usually show date of birth, which you could match to that on the birth certificate.
You may find the surname has changed, but a check of the GRO lists ought to show if there was a recorded birth in that possibly changed surname.

my gran had an affair and got pregnant while my grandad was at war. when my grandad got back he wasnt very happy and would let the baby live with them. the baby went and lived with his father and the fathers wife. i have the birth certificate but there is no fathers name. is there any way to find out what happened to this baby. i know the street which the man lived on but this was in 1919 and the baby will be 90 years old if still alive. ive got a feeling that the babies name was probably changed.

has anyone got any ideas of how to trace?
Many thanks
