Thank you Somerset Girl but I am not too sure. If these papers date service from 1847- 1860, he was definitely in RM in 1841 as per census

So what do you think?

I have found George Curtis in 1841 census as a sergeant at the Royal Citadel Plymouth unfortunately with no service number. He married in Plymouth in Jun. 1841 to Jane Fedrick. They then went to Scotland to Edinburgh Castle (garrison) where my g. grandfather George Frederick was born 1842. By 1851 Jane had returned to westcountry with George and had at least 3 children with Thomas Avery. Where was George,? Family story says he was aboard HMS Birkenhead famous shipwreck and was drowned
There was a Curtis on board but his name was Francis. How can I find out more about George in the least expensive way?? p.s. No help on his marriage cert to Jane ,just fathers name John Curtis. Hoping someone can help.
